Energetic, Eclectic, And Exceptional Media Creation & Expertise

With more than 10 years of experience in digital media, entertainment, advertising, and content creation, I bring a fierce, relentless professionalism and versatility to my work. I cut to the beating heart of every job I dive into to establish and build upon foundational principles that guide projects from early conception to successful completion.

Check out some of the projects I’ve worked on:

KOTAKU

In 2022 I joined an unparalleled team of writers and editors, each of us experts on video games, the industry which produces them, and the rhizomic culture of geekdom.

I started out as a freelance writer and editor, joining the team as a staff writer soon after. I also co-produced and hosted a mini-series of videos exploring classic game franchises and their lasting impact.

Starting in 2024, I was promoted to Associate Editor of Tips & Guides, where I oversaw a talented group of freelancers who were eager to inform a readership hungry for ways to level up their experience, while also finding opportunities for each writer to express themselves by tackling larger deep-dives into hit game series.

FREELANCER

Prior to my time with Kotaku, I lived the life of a freelancer, tackling a wide variety of different jobs for a selection of exceptional clients. These examples represent some of my best and most memorable work during this time.

My most ambitious project by far was working for the NYC metal band IKILLYA, signed to Urban Yeti Records and Megaforce. I was hired as a recording and performing musician, but I played a critical role in the band’s marketing and promotion, overseeing social media advertisement campaigns for two records, as well as working as a co-producer for multiple music videos. This work kept the band’s popularity sustained through multiple tours, landing premieres in Decibel magazine and grabbing enough attention to earn the band a regular spot on SiriusXM’s Liquid Metal playlists.

I also worked for other incredible musicians such as Dweezil Zappa, son of the legendary Frank Zappa. In the mid 2010s I ran Dweezil’s socials, creating original content and directing social media coverage during a complicated legal battle that affected touring and promotional materials.

Marketing both shows and Dweezil’s solo record Via Zammata’, my work played a critical role in high ticket sales during the Dweezil Zappa Plays Whatever the Fuck He Wants tour.

I also worked for Susan G. Komen’s LA County branch, creating original social media content for daily posts. I also oversaw digital advertisement roll outs for multiple events, including Komen’s Race for the Cure.

My work for Susan G. Komen helped to inform locals of essential breast cancer screening and treatment resources, as well as informing LA residents of the best ways to communicate with and support Komen’s mission.

Lastly, I’d be sad to leave out my COVID-19 passion project, an original YouTube channel covering the tabletop roleplaying game Numenera. I produced original guides as well as actual play events streamed live. This project saw me close out life temporarily as a freelancer as I’d join Kotaku full-time shortly after. Working full-time for G/O Media and Kotaku made it hard to keep the channel running, but perhaps it hasn’t yet seen its last video.
